Hawaii: Part 1

In May, Tyler and I were fortunate enough to take a trip to Hawaii for Ryan's (Ty's brother) graduation from Pharmacy School. Ryan, his wife Kate, and their daughter Jane lived in Hawaii while Ryan went to school. It was fun to be able to see where they lived!

We first went to Hilo for the graduation. We loved walking around the hotel we stayed at in Hilo...the scenery was gorgeous!

We walked around the Japanese Gardens, which was nearby our hotel.

There is a street in Hilo that is called "Banyan Drive". The road is lined with Banyan Trees.

The trees have a plaque that says who planted the trees and what year they were planted.

While we were in Hilo, we also got to meet BJ Penn!

 BJ Penn is a UFC fighter (and former champion) that lives in Hawaii. Tyler's brother, Ryan, was able to arrange things so that Tyler's little brother, Alex, could have a private training session with BJ Penn. We all got to go watch-it was so neat! He's a well known fighter, so we were impressed he would take time out of his day to come meet with us...very humble, down to earth guy.
