An Calaidh and Halloween

Yes, I'm behind :)

In October we went to a Calaidh some friends invited us to. It's something that is common in Scotland and is basically a gathering where people play Gaelic folk music and do Calaidh dancing (sort of similar to square dancing). Ty played his small pipes and others brought their instruments. Tyler and I were brave and joined in on one of the Calaidh dances. It was a lot of fun!!

Halloween started on October 29th with our Halloween party at school. The kiddos got to wear their costumes to school (as well as the teachers!) and we had a Halloween parade that went through all of the K-2 classrooms and we ended with a fun Halloween party! Some of my kids wore the CUTEST costumes...I wish I could post the pictures I took of them. My favorite costumes belonged to 1) My cute little black boy that dressed up as Michael Jackson...it was awesome! and 2) My sweet little boy (he gives me a hug before he leaves every day!) who dressed up as Sully off of Monsters Inc....cute!

I dressed up as Cleopatra this year

For Halloween, Tyler and I went to Provo to visit my brother, Nathan, and give him his birthday cake! We then met up with our friends Ben and Kimi for some ice cream. On our way back home, we stopped in Eagle Mountain where there was a fundraiser for a girl in my class. (I explained in a previous post). They had a bakesale so Tyler and I loaded up with a box full of goodies to take home! And my wonderful husband wore his kilt and brought his pipe and played a few tunes (in the rain!) for us all to enjoy! And his piping sure did draw a crowd!....ha ha :)

Here are some of my Halloween creations:

Hope you had a happy Halloween!
