California

In October, the Salt Lake Scots had a bagpipe competition in Ventura, CA. This was their final competition of the year. We spent 2 days at the competition. It was beautiful, sunny, and a little windy, and LOTS of fun! If you have never heard a bagpipe band perform (in person) then you definitely need to! They are so fun to listen to...especially when they are as good as the SL Scots :) There were about 12 bands that competed and the Scots sounded AWESOME. Apparently the judges thought so too, because they got 1st PLACE! We were all so excited!

After the competition, we had the option of staying in California for a few more days and going to Disneyland. It's great for members of the Scots to be able to have a little fun together and have a last "Hurrah" to celebrate all of their hard work. And besides...when you are that close to Disneyland, how can you pass up that opportunity?! :)

We spent 1 day in Disneyland and had a blast! Since it was close to Halloween, they had the place decked out with pumpkins and such. And my favorite ride this time...the Haunted Mansion...because they had it decorated with a "Nightmare Before Christmas" theme....so cool!

Here are some pictures of our favorite things in Disneyland...

(me and my favorite ride..Nightmare Before Christmas Haunted House)

(Ty and his favorite ride...Indiana Jones)

On our last day in California, we went to the beach. It was a little chilly so I was too chicken to go in the water...but Ty and his buddies had a great time swimming!

Tyler and his Baywatch Debut :)

It was a fun trip!! Can't believe we went to California (and Disneyland) twice in 1 year!! We feel pretty lucky!

GO SCOTS! Thanks for the great trip!
