In October, my mom and 2 older sisters flew out to Utah for a girls weekend!
On Friday night and Saturday (Oct. 26-27) we went to Salt Lake City for Time Out for Women.

There were some amazing speakers and I loved all of the music! Friday night, Jenny Oaks Baker (an amazing violinist) played...it was beautiful!! The speakers that night were Virginia Pierce and Sherry Dew. On Saturday we heard from Chris Williams, Emily Freeman, Mercy River, Brad Wilcox, John Bytheway, and Sarah and Kate Jones (from 'Our Best Bites'). Here are a few messages that stuck out to me during those 2 days:
- Forgiveness is not between you and the other person. It's between you and the Lord and can be accomplished at any time.
- Don't sweat the small stuff!
- Sherry Dew had a lot of opportunities to be at press conferences with President Hinckley. He often got questions about the women in the church, usually in the context of them being oppressed. During a press conference he received such a question and said "People wonder what we do for women. I will tell you what we do. We get out of their way and look with wonder at what they're accomplishing." (National Press Club appearance March 8, 2000)
- Enjoy the little things...for one day, you might look back and they will be big things." (Robert Brault)
- His goal is not only to get us to Heaven, but to make us Heavenly.
- Regardless of your intentions, you will become what you surround yourself with. Surround yourself with greatness.
- God loves us how we are....but he's not done with us yet. We are his 'work and his glory'.
- When was the last time you had an answer to prayer? If not in the last 3 days, change the way you pray. When was the last time you received an answer through scripture study? If not in the last week, change the way you read your scriptures.
- "Nothing will surprise us more than when we get to heaven and see the Father and realize how well we know Him and how familiar His face is to us." (Pres. Benson)
Friday night, Jenna and I stayed the night over at my Grandma and Grandpa Hirschi's house. My mom and sisters were staying there for the weekend. It was fun to be able to spend some time with them!

After Time Out for Women was over, we went to the City Creek Mall. We met up with Kylene, my sister's best friend from high school.
And of course we had to stop and get some dessert at Cheesecake Factory!!
Check out this beautiful picture my sister, Sharon, took of the temple during her weekend here. Gorgeous!
I had such a great time during our girls weekend! Hope we get to do another one again soon!
