St. Patty's

St. Patrick's Day is a busy time for the Salt Lake Scots. They have a St. Patrick's day concert every year. It's always a really fun concert to go to. They did a great job!

At the end of the concert, they march through the halls playing and play a few songs in the lobby area. Then everyone hangs out for another hour or so mingling and talking with the pipe band members.

Alex (Ty's little brother) and some of Tyler's best friends...Darron, Ben and Sitney

St. Patrick's Day is also a busy day at school! The 1st graders make leprechaun traps in hopes to catch a leprechaun. The fun part is they REALLY think they are going to catch one! The entire week is filled with seeing leprechauns at recess and blaming leprechauns for ANYTHING that gets lost. This year, our custodian played a few leprechaun tricks and left some footprints on my table and some of the traps. The kids FLIPPED and of course were checking every single trap to see if someone caught one. One year I need to video tape their reaction...it is hilarious. I also had the office call down to my room and announce that I had a letter. I sent one of my kids to go get it and it turned out to be our 1st clue for a leprechaun treasure hunt...it led us all around the school finding clues and eventually led us back to our classroom where there was some Elf cookies waiting for us! It's one of my favorite days of the year...I love how excited they get!

Hope you had a great St. Patty's Day!
