We have had a few fun visits from some little critters the last couple of months. One of my students brought a spider from her garden to school one day. This thing was HUGE and NASTY and the kids LOVED it! Check this guy out...

Pretty gross, huh? I tried to look up what kind of spider it was and I found some pictures of garden spiders that looked very similar so I'm guessing that's what it is. We were learning about patterns in math so we were able to talk about the patterns we saw on the spider. See that big white thing hanging off of the stick? I came into my classroom one morning and that's what it had done overnight. Not quite sure what it is...our guess was that it was an egg sac...which made me nervous! So I let the spider go. I did NOT want to come in the next day and have a million little spider babies all over my classroom!
The next critter is a lot cuter...

Tyler's sister and her family went to St. George for the weekend and we got to babysit their bunny while they were gone. It was SO FUN! We would block off an area of our apartment and just let him run around and play on pillows. I would sit on the ground and he loved to climb up on my lap and nibble on my sleeve. It was so fun having a pet for a few days!!!

EWWW! Gross...I would have let him go right away.
The spider gave me the creeps. However if the bunny had come to school I would have loved to hug it.
