The good thing about not having kids (yet) is that Ty and I get to go on a lot of dates. Sometimes we go get dinner. Sometimes we go out for ice cream. But usually we go on drives.
Last night we drove around Sandy area with the windows down, the wind in our faces, and looked at the huge houses up on the side of the mountain and talked. We always have great conversations on our drives. We got to an area that didn't have houses and were about to turn around when we saw something moving. A deer? No--this animal was crouched very low to the ground as it walked. We suddenly realized what it was.
A mountain lion.
I have never seen a mountain lion before. Not out in the wild at least. It was scary and exciting all at the same time. He cautiously watched us as he walked, but didn't dare come near us. And I didn't complain about that. Ty tried to get the jeep a little closer to him so we could get a better look but we lost him.
Shortly after we made the drive back home deciding maybe we would return to that spot soon and see if we see the mountain lion again.
