Tyler LOVES his jeep. He has been wanting a rack to go on the top of his jeep so that when we go camping or on trips, we can carry our things on top. That became Tyler's birthday present.
The weekend before his birthday, we packed the jeep full of food, sleeping bags and blankets and headed off to Horseshoe Springs to camp. We found a nice spot away from everyone else with an amazing view.
We unloaded the jeep and set up camp.....
...and had a few visitors....BITING GNATS. And they LOVED us! While Tyler was setting up the tent, I was busy spraying myself and spraying Tyler so we wouldn't get eaten alive. After swapping at gnats for the next couple of hours, Tyler got a fire built and things started to cool off so the gnats disappeared. We spent the rest of the evening, roasting hot dogs and marshmallows and enjoying the quiet.
A few days later, Tyler came home from work with his head itching like CRAZY. He shaved off his hair and this is what we found....
his head was COVERED in gnat bites. Poor thing!! Luckily they have started going away and haven't been itching quite as much.
On Ty's actual birthday, Ty's brother Ryan and his wife Kate flew in from Hawaii. It is fun having them back!! It was a great birthday present!!

Tyler's head is just covered!!! I can't believe those little gnats just went to town biting his head! How awful! I'm glad that they're starting to die down now. I'm also glad that Ty had a nice birthday! It was so fun to see you guys last week!
